No problem whatsoever; a table was found within a couple of minutes of our request. We have a rebooked a table for Septembe. We would definitely recommend Maxwells.

  Visited one sunny lunch time with limited time of only an hour. Greatest with a smile and shown to a table on the roof terrace. Ordered drinks immediately and as… read more they came a few minutes later ordered food. I have to say as someone with coeliac disease this place is amazing. So much choice. I have the chicken club sandwich on gluten free bread and it was amazing. Best sandwich I’ve had out and about for a long time. Service was really quick which meant myself and my partner were in and out within the hour, even had time for a quick look in Dawsons next door. A very well run establishment and would highly recommend.

  I had a great time at Maxwells! A friend and I visited when we still weren’t allowed to sit indoors (couple of weeks ago) so we sat on the roof… read more terrace and it was fabulous! Fully covered, with heaters for when it got a bit chilly, what is there to complain about? The food was delicious also, and we very much enjoyed our drinks (would very much recommend the cocktail pitchers). The service was good; the staff had it running like clockwork and were being very covid-conscious. It was a wonderful night out all round!

One thing to note: if you’re going to make the bathrooms a one in one out rule, then I’d suggest stopping groups of girls from going in all at once to take photos with each other. I didn’t care but others might.

  We had such a lovely time in Maxwells yesterday for our lunch. First of all it was so lovely and cool which made a huge difference as it felt comfortable… read more to sit and chat and enjoy our food on a very hot day!
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive.
The food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long considering it was very busy at the time.
We all felt that the prices were very reasonable too.
Couldn’t fault it and we will definitely be returning.

  We regularly come here for something to eat and drink. The service is always prompt and the staff are very welcoming and hard working. Dogs are welcome on the front… read more terrace and always receive a treat. There’s a good selection of food on offer and often a weekly specials menu. We have always enjoyed our meals here. The roof terrace is lovely on a sunny day just to sit and watch the world go by with a glass or two. I would recommend this cafe bar.
